Art Adventure: Fireworks

I originally shared this as a guest post for My World Made by Hand, and I thought I needed to share it here too.

Fireworks are so exciting, but after the 4th of July, the magic is done.

Unless you make your own.
Firework Painting
Supplies:

  • red and blue tempera paint
  • paper
  • drinking straws
  • glitter
Squirt a tablespoon or two of paint into a cup or bowl (separate cups for each color). Add water a little bit at a time and stir.

You want to thin the paint, but it doesn't need to be super watery.

Have your glitter ready. I like to put it on a plate so the kids can take a pinch to sprinkle. It's easy for them than the package.

Put a small pool of paint on the paper. You can add several at once.

Then use the straw to blow the paint in all directions.

Before the paint dries, sprinkle with glitter. You can just sprinkle in certain places or all over.

Simple and easy way to keep fireworks all year long.
